Panel discussion curated and hosted by Lauren Reskin, owner of Sweat Records. From hip hop to abstract electronics to indie punk rock, Miami's current musical climate encompasses far more than what rises to the surface. Come learn about what got pressed on wax in South Florida and why over the last twenty-plus years. Following the panel, stick around for a party led by guest DJ Maneuvers spinning the best of mid-90s to current Miami music, and check out The Record: Contemporary Art and Vinyl, and other works, on view in the galleries. Panelists are:
Arielle Castillo – Miami music journalist and contributing writer for Spin.com
Romulo del Castillo – founder of Miami electronic label Schematic Records and part of the group Phoenica
Abel Folgar – contributing writer for Miami New Times; local historian for the punk rock/underground Miami music scene
