Over 300 community volunteers recently came together in the spirit of camaraderie and compassion for Jewish Community Services' annual Passover food distribution event. This year's gathering was called Matzah Mitzvah & Much, Much More because for the first time it was done in collaboration with the Jewish Volunteer Center, a program of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation; PJ Library Miami; and International Good Deeds Day/Ruach Tova.

More than 600 seniors and homebound people received a special kosher for Passover holiday food package, thanks to the efforts of these committed and caring volunteers. As well as delivering food and companionship, activities included assembling the food boxes, creating matzah covers, participating in children’s story telling and painting wall tiles for the JCS Miami Beach Senior Center. Co-chairing this year’s event were Lisa and Jay Massirman and Joanna and Scott Segal.
