In Celebration of Shakespeare First Folio at the Frost Art Museum, the FIU School of Music will present John Blow’s Venus and Adonis, a collaborative opera-theatre production with the FIU Department of Theatre., featuring the Collegium Musicum with a special guest appearance by members of the Conchita Espinosa Academy Children’s Chorus. This one-act opera is based on the poem of the same name by William Shakespeare. The production’s unique interpretation explores the values of classical mythology through the lens of 21st-century pop culture. Directed by Philip M. Church. Admission is $13 online and $15 at the door; $5 for students.
