10th Annual Gala Guide Kicks Off September 15
Gala chairs, committee members and honorees to be special guests
This year SocialMiami will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Gala Guide with a special event to launch the 2016-2017 season!
The inaugural Behind the Magic Gala Tablescape & Culinary Arts Showcase offers a unique opportunity to enjoy kick off the social season amid creatively designed tables, savoring samples of signature menu items provided by South Florida’s leading caterers.

The spectacularly designed tables will serve as the backdrop for SocialMiami’s annual photo shoot where charity leaders come together to be recognized and photographed for a feature in SocialMiami’s 2016-2017 Annual Gala Guide. The Guide reaches 25,000 subscribers and more than 60,000 social media followers.
On Thursday, September 15 from 4 to 8 p.m., the two-day event will be welcome exclusively participating organizations in the 2016-2017 Gala Guide. Guests will include media, event specialists and leadership and supporters of nonprofits featured in the Gala Guide. Admission is free, and all guests will vote for the “People’s Choice Awards,” the top two most popular table designs. Guests will also cast ballots for prize packages to be awarded by lottery to three participating nonprofits:
1st – $5,000 in cash, a complimentary Gala Guide package and an entire Sunday Feature dedicated to the organization and its gala ($8,600 value).
2nd & 3rd – Complimentary Gala Guide packages and an article published about the organization and its gala ($2,600 value each).
Thursday’s event concludes with a cocktail reception from 6 to 8 when photos will be taken of gala chairs and committee members, the winning tables announced and prizes awarded to nonprofits. Valet parking will be available.
On Friday from 2 to 6 p.m., more charities and cultural organizations will attend, along with event planners, destination management companies and wedding planners.
The event will be promoted and advertised through SocialMiami.com and other media outlets, and invitations will be available for distribution to organizations.
