This premier event celebrates St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its International Outreach Program (IOP). The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to find cures for deadly pediatric diseases like cancer through research and treatment. And no family ever pays St. Jude for anything!

St. Jude freely shares its findings by speeding its research discoveries directly from its labs to the bedsides of patients, doctors, and scientists everywhere, so one child saved at St. Jude means thousands more saved around the globe.

The mission of the St. Jude IOP is to improve the survival rates of children with catastrophic diseases worldwide, by sharing knowledge, technology, and organizational skills with doctors in partner clinics. The program has 20 partner sites in 14 countries, including Brazil, Chile, China, Costa Rica and Mexico.

Julian Gil and Pamela Silva Conde, gala presenters

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, is one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. Children from all 50 states and from around the world have come through the doors of St. Jude for treatment, and thousands more around the world have benefited from the research conducted at St. Jude – research that is shared freely with the global medical community.

St. Jude is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fundraising organization. In 2010, St. Jude was ranked the most trusted charity in the nation in a public survey conducted by Harris Interactive, a highly respected international polling and research firm.
