New World School of the Arts students once again will stage their signature fundraiser Rising Stars, beginning with a visual arts exhibition in the Wynwood Art District that showcases an array of creative interpretations by NWSA high school and college students. Rising Stars continues at the Arsht Center where guests will enjoy gifted students representing the various arts divisions of New World School of the Arts. Along with the showcase of talented artists performing music, dance and theater pieces, the Alumnus of the Year Award will be presented to a successful NWSA alum. About New World School of the Arts
A Florida center of excellence in the visual and performing arts, NWSA provides a comprehensive program of artistic, creative and academic development through a curriculum that reflects the rich multicultural state of Florida. With programs accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art, Dance, Music and Theater, NWSA offers the high school diploma as well as four-year BFA and BM college degrees. New World School of the Arts was created by the Florida Legislature in 1986 as a center of excellence in the performing and visual arts. It is an educational partnership of Miami Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade College and the University of Florida.
