29th Anniversary MS Gala & Fashion Show

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, South Florida Chapter recently held its 29th Annual MS Gala & Fashion Show presented by DBS Financial Group/MassMutual at the Broward County Convention Center. Celebrated fashion designer Pamela Dennis, a favorite with celebrities Angelina Jolie, Kate Hudson, Halle Berry, Madonna, Whitney Houston and Sharon Stone, dazzled guests with the debut of her new Spring Collection. Runway models glittered with jewelry provided by J.R. Dunn Jewelers. The distinguished Hope Award was presented to Carol L. Lasek, founding partner of Bienenfeld, Lasek & Starr, LLC, who has been a supporter of the National MS Society for more than 20 years. Also awarded was the Dr. Howard Zwibel Multiple Sclerosis Resident Scholarship to Leticia Tornes, a UM Miller School of Medicine resident specializing in the field of neurology with a focus on MS. Carrie and David Schulman, principles of DBS Financial Group, served as the title sponsor for the gala, and Andrea Hampton served as event chair, raising $450,000 to fund research for MS.
