The Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida (RMHC) celebrated a special milestone recently, its 35th anniversary celebration, with a spectacular gala. In an evening of fine dining, signature cocktails, exciting live music, auction and entertainment, RMHC lit up the Donna E. Shalala Student Center at the University of Miami, with hundreds of guests who gathered to raise more than $175,000 to benefit the charity. This special benchmark paid tribute to RMHC having its doors open to families in need since 1982, supporting more than 30,000 families in Miami-Dade and Broward to date. The mission of the Ronald McDonald Charities of South Florida is to improve the health and wellbeing of children and their families in South Florida and most importantly, continue to provide a “home away from home” by helping loved ones remain together, as a family, in an environment of comfort, compassion, strength and support.
