5th Annual Fashion Gives Back
Benefiting Miami Children's Health Foundation
Miami Children’s Young Ambassadors (MCYA), the young professionals group at Miami Children’s Health Foundation hosted a youthful and vibrant crowd at The Moore Building to celebrate the 5th Annual Fashion Gives Back. This yearly fashion show brings together the foundation’s young ambassadors and professionals who serve as advocates for children’s causes and bring awareness for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. The fashion-forward crowd of nearly 400 sipped on crafted cocktails while watching the season’s latest fashion from Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour.
In addition to the dazzling runway show, the event also counted with some special guests, including Olympic swimmer Cullen Jones, who assisted in the program by announcing the names of raffle winners. The guest of honor however, was Nicklaus Children’s Hospital patient Astry, who came out at the end of the fashion show and brought all guests to their feet when she walked the runway. Astry was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was 3 months old, and it wasn’t until she was 4 years old that she was able to take her first steps. She was supposed to be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life, but after undergoing 10 years of therapy at Nicklaus Children’s, Astry is now able to walk with the assistance of a walker.
Serving as this year’s honorary chairs for Fashion Gives Back were Farrell and Patel, Attorneys at Law, while event founder Ricky Patel served as co-chair alongside Zak Mann. Other sponsors included Coral Gables Kitchen & Bath, First Service Residential, FPL, Hotwire Communications, JP Morgan, ParkOne of Florida, REM Hospitality, East Hotel, RPJ, Inc., Stellar Adjusting, Super Restorations, Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour, A&M Productions, MG Catering, Waste Management, Miami Design District, Miami Modern Luxury Magazine and Worldmedia Interactive, among others.
