What makes Rockin’ on the Green everyone’s favorite event of the season? It could be the magnificent courtyard setting on the campus of Ransom Everglades Middle School. Everyone loves the casual attire and relaxed, tropical ambiance filled with live music! Some think it’s because of the extraordinary wine auction curated by Alex Montague, our favorite wine chair and oenophile, who brings together a remarkable assembly of fine wines.
Our guests rave over the auction prizes, including luxurious gifts, tickets to the best events in town and the most sought after cruises to Europe, Asia and beyond. Many Rockin’ attendees have been known to return for the mystery boxes of fabulous jewelry and prizes!
With hors d’oeuvres and divine dinners prepared by Chef David Schwadron, your inner foodie is sure to take part in guilty indulgence. Join the fun of our cake exchange as guests love sampling cakes from the finest bakers in town. Enjoy your favorite Bacardi cocktail created by their own mixologists, as well as fine wine offerings from Crown Wine and Spirits.
And who can resist our fabulous and famous Rockin’ hosts, Miami’s own Lonnie Quinn, straight from New York and the CBS Early Show, and the beautiful Roxanne Vargas, host of Miami NBC’s 6 in the Mix.
But the best reason to gather your friends and join us for the Children’s Bereavement Center’s (CBC) signature event, Rockin’ on the Green, is to support the kids and families of our community who turn to the CBC to adjust to life after the loss of a loved one. Your participation keeps the CBC FREE for families in our community!

About Children’s Bereavement Center
For over thirteen years, the Children’s Bereavement Center provides Peer Support Groups for children, teens and young adults (elementary through college age), as well as adult caregivers who are grieving the death of a loved one. Groups are open to anyone who has lost a loved one as a result of illness, accident, suicide, or homicide. Losses can be recent or in years past. All Peer Support Groups are free of charge.
Concurrent education and peer support groups are provided for parents, caregivers, and any other adult who plays a significant role in the child’s life. These groups enable adults to better understand the bereavement process through the eyes of their children as well as offering an opportunity to share their own experiences and help normalize the experience for themselves and their family.
The CBC, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, is a comprehensive, multicultural, community-based, bereavement support, education, and resource center. The CBC extends supportive services, education and resources to families, caregivers, schools and the community. The CBC promotes research based principles, that grieving is a normal, natural process and that people have the ability to heal from their loss at their own unique pace and in their own style. This process is enhanced within a caring, relaxed, and accepting environment.
CBC Peer Support Groups allow Participants to gain a better understanding of their own experience and learn to empathize with one another, contributing to self-esteem, trust and hope for the future.
