The 9th Annual 2011 Fed/Ex Angels & Stars Gala is a premier event that celebrates the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its International Outreach Program (IOP). The mission of the IOP is to improve the survival rates of children with catastrophic diseases worldwide, through the transfer of knowledge, technology, and organizational skills. The St. Jude IOP has clinics in 15 countries, mostly in Latin America, inlcuding Mexico, El Salvador, Brazil and Costa Rica.

Every year, the FedEx/St. Jude gala honors an outstanding individual with the “Al-Rashid Hope Award” for their humanitarian efforts.

The 2010 event honored Latin Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Juanes and was hosted by popular Spanish television host Ana Maria Canseco and national radio personality Javier Romero. Past honorees include Emilio & Gloria Estefan and Tommy & Thalia Mottola. Over the past eight years, more than 550 guests each year have enjoyed an unforgettable star-studded evening, as well as live performances by some of Latin Music’s hottest performers including Luis Fonsi, Willy Chirino, Luis Enrique, Christian Castro and Gilberto Santa Rosa. The FedEx/St. Jude gala also hosts one of the hottest red carpet events in South Florida and garners the attention of national and international media every year.
