KRELwear & ROCK Fashion Week
The Thursday evening ROCK Fashion week shows at Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach packed some serious heat. Sponsored by ELLE magazine and Stoli vodka the outdoor area was aglow with fashionistas and a cool, hipster crowd. The four-day week celebrates the fusion of the fashion and music worlds and the KRELwear 2010 Spring collection “DiscGlo” was the perfect show for the description. Although the show was over an hour late to start, the wait was well worth it. The runway was setup over the pool and guests were wowed when DJ Otto Von Schirach started the set and smoke machines flooded the runway. The models strutted and danced down the runway to club jams while working glow sticks, day glow platforms and neon lips. Inspired by 24 hour party people, club culture and chameleon-like characters, “DiscGlo” packs day to night looks with a playful palette of hot neons and nudes. Characterized by altered states and heightened perceptions, designer Karelle Levy’s entire collection is glow-in-the-dark, blacklight-reactive and like all KRELwear pieces totally unique.
