The Making of an Olympic Champion
Bay Harbor Islands resident Gabriella Deza, 15, is dreaming about the Olympics. Not Beijing, but London 2012 — and you can help her!
The competitive swimmer wants to represent the United States in Open Water Swimming. Gabriella recently participated in the USA Swimming 10 K Open Water Nationals in Minneapolis.
To make her Olympic dreams reality, Gabriella must get sponsors to support her efforts to compete in the upcoming open water races. The local talent has already secured sponosorship from Bay Harbor Islands. The town of Bay Harbor Islands has agreed to match donations up to $500 from Bay Harbor residents. Donations are gladly accepted from non-Bay Harbor residents, as well.
Donors can send their donations to Bay Harbor Islands Town Hall at 9665 Bay Harbor Terrace, Bay Harbor Islands, 33154, and Gabriella will be presented with the collected funds, plus the Town’s matching funds. Gabriella can be reached directly at 305-861-4519.
