A reception was held at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens benefiting the Holtz Children’s Hospital. Patricia Hirsch and Anthony Japour, event chairs, recruited new Guardian Angels for the Holtz Children’s Hospital to fund the Pediatric Dialysis, or Pedi-Di, unit, which provides life-saving kidney treatments to more than 5,000 infants, children and adolescents each year. Among the highlights of the event were: the unveiling of Henry Richardson’s six-foot, 5000-pound hollow spherical glass orb, entitled Healing the World (Tikkun); a Teen Art Fair Competition; musical performance by Nicole Abissi and Stacey Berkley; and a testimonial by artist Purvis Young, himself a dialysis patient and recipient of a kidney transplant.
