Planned Parenthood Supporters Celebrate 100 Years
Nearly 100 Planned Parenthood supporters came together at Byblos at the Shorecrest to celebrate the non-profit organization’s 100 year anniversary. For the past century, Planned Parenthood has provided high-quality, affordable health care to millions of people and is the nation’s largest provider of sex education. This year’s Miami fundraiser was led by Planned Parenthood volunteer, Lisa Versaci, along with Planned Parenthood Board members Debra Frank, Dawn Adels Fine and Barbara Garrett. Lillian Tamayo, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida, spoke and urged supporters to contact lawmakers about several anti-women’s health bills that have recently been introduced in Florida. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and intimate dinner. The event was a noteworthy success, raising more than $100,000 to provide lifesaving services to patients at Planned Parenthood health centers throughout Florida.
