Mitchell-Innes & Nash Seasonal Space in Miami

This inaugural show will be a four-person exhibition with work by Gerasimos Floratos, Eddie Martinez, Pope.L and Brent Wadden. Lévy Gorvy and Salon 94 Design

Presenting exceptional contemporary art in dialogue with outstanding design objects. With an interior design intervention by Gabriel Chipperfield, this new venue will offer collectors the opportunity to view works in person in the context of Miami’s distinctively urbane seaside atmosphere. Space Tomorrow Presented by Eventure and School of Space

NYC-based experiential and content production company Eventure is partnering with School of Space to launch a new initiative called Space Tomorrow. Crowdsourcing experiential ideas from School of Space’s design community, the initiative seeks to bring them to life in physical and virtual spaces. Design Miami

Taking place over ten days, over 139 pieces will be exhibited from across America, with 57 being shown as part of Podium, a new exhibition concept featuring historic and contemporary design objects, that explore the theme “America(s)” and curated by Design Miami/’s Curatorial Director Aric Chen. Alongside this new format exhibition, Design Miami/ welcomes 10 international design galleries and four innovative Curio presentations to this year’s show by R&Company, Jason Jacques, Moderne, amongst others, the Miami Design District’s Moore Building, Friday, November 27 through Sunday, December 6.

Craig Robins Collection

The annual exhibition, representing a broad range of artistic perspectives, will be on view over the course of five days during Design Miami and limited to groups of 10. The multifaceted collection encompasses a range of disciplines from design, to architecture, to art and is home to works by world-renowned artists the exhibition provides the opportunity to view the works in person, such as Close Rotation (2019) by Jana Euler; Hair Peace (2019) by Karon Davism, from November 27th to December 9th, contact RSVP@Dacra.com to book a tour.

 

Opening November 28th

French Artists J.Leo and Léo & Steph at Markowicz Fine Art

Paramount Miami Design District art gallery will present new art collections by both French-Brazilian Pop Art couple marking the U.S. debut of both artists  from November 28th to December 6th, tge gallery will host a series of small group showings reserved to only 10 people every 45 minutes. After being greeted with a glass of champagne, guests will receive a private, narrated art tour of the three-story gallery and its exhibitions. The Body Electric at Museum of Art and Design

In honor Miami Art Week, the Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) at Miami Dade College (MDC) will offer free admission from November 28 to December 6. Visitors can view MOAD’s current exhibition, which opened on November 5. The Body Electric is an exhibition that examines the last 50 years of artists addressing the way technological mediation has come to dominate our interactions with the world, with each other, and with ourselves. It explores themes of the real and the virtual, the organic and the artificial, moving from the world into the screen and back again.  1-6 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; and 1-8 p.m. Thursdays. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

The Margulies Collection at the Warehouse

The Warehouse joins the Miami Art Community with special programing for Miami Art Week 2020.  New exhibitions include Doug Aitken, John Armleder, Peter Belyi, Peter Coffin, Kota Ezawa, Richard Long, Mary Obering, Masterworks include Abakanowicz, de Kooning, Olafur Eliasson, Flavin, Anselm Kiefer, Kounellis, LeWitt, Ernesto Neto, Noguchi, Nancy Rubins, Segal, Serra, Kenneth and Photography from the archive includes 150 works of vintage and contemporary photography hung salon-style, corner to corner and floor to ceiling in our renovated storage area. Zen and the Art of London in the 70’s and 80’s

Presented collaboratively by The Betsy Hotel, Florida International University, Miami Beach Urban Studios taking a virtual trip back into London’s “Glam” Era, led by two expert guides: photographer Karl Stoecker and vintage fashion connoisseur Keni Valenti. SCOPE Art Show

Honoring its mission to provide an experiential platform for discovery, Immersive Miami Beach | Part 2 will welcome 35 exhibitors from around the world featuring The New Contemporary, a genre that stands as a critical contribution to both global politics and local community engagement.  Leading the industry with cutting-edge technology, SCOPE Immersive Miami Beach will present daily New Contemporary programming on a large scale video wall inside the show featuring morning wellness programs, talk series, and artist activations. This multi-functional wall will transform after-hours into a premium virtual nightlife experience featuring world-class DJ and music talent, all without an access link or password. Pérez Art Museum Miami, Scholl Lecture Series

Kick off Miami Art Week with a conversation between internationally acclaimed Ghanaian-British architect Sir David Adjaye OBE and PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans. Adjaye has established himself as an architect with an artist’s sensibility and vision, with influences ranging from contemporary art, music and science to African art forms and the civic life of cities. Sir Adjaye and Sirmans will discuss Adjaye’s wide range of global projects managed by Adjaye Associates, with studios in Accra, London, and New York, including The National Museum of African American History and Culture, The Studio Museum in Harlem, and Dirty House. PINTA Art Fair

The fair showcasing Latin American arts is back in Miami this year with a strong presence in support of Miami’s arts scene. Pinta paired up with a few local private artist studios, the Piero Atchugarry Gallery, Jorge Perez’s El Espacio 23 and Juan Maldonado Art Collection to host a series of private pop-up events and guided tours. In addition, they are inaugurating a new digital platform, Pinta Miami Live, that presents the works of over 400 artists from Europe and Latin America, allowing attendees to connect directly with galleries and have access to extensive curatorial artistic content for free. Virtual guided tours begin for VIPs  WEDNESDAY, December 1 and continue until December 12. There are also exhibition tours and Pop-up events.

John CRASH Matos Solo Exhibition

Renowned street artist John “CRASH” Matos kicks off art week with a solo show exhibition featuring new works. The solo show,  entitled “45 Years Later” will celebrate his 45 years of painting, with new works on paper as well as never-before-seen works on canvas — all emblematic of Matos’ colorful, energetic style for which he has become so well known. The kickoff reception will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 6 to 9 p.m., and will be open to the public and the exhibition runs to January 2.  WYN 317 Art Gallery located at 4320 NW 2 Ave., Miami, FL 33127.

Jewish Museum of Florida – FIU Virtual Fundraiser

Titled “Heritage Heroes,” the program will present the everyday heroes who have helped the museum over the past 25 years and will continue to support the museum’s important work for years to come.  Each day until December 6, the museum will present virtual programming that speaks to its work celebrating, collecting, preserving and interpreting Jewish culture and history in Florida.  Register and donate here.

Pérez Art Museum Miami: Black Diasporic Feminism, Intersectionality and Solidarity in the Age of Protest

Join PAMM for a panel highlighting the critical role of Black womxn artists and cultural producers within the current social and political landscapes, showcasing how Black womxn across the diaspora support and amplify each other’s work and voices. The discussion will explore how Black womxn’s experience of racism, sexism, and classism are inseparable and how these “isms” and all other isms are being addressed by artists- specifically those on the panel.  The conversation will take place in conjunction with special exhibition Allied with Power: African and African Diaspora Art from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection and will include exhibition artists Genevieve Gaignard, Naudline Pierre, and Deborah Roberts, exhibition curator María Elena Ortiz, and will be moderated by PAMM Director of Education Marie Vickles. Museum of Graffiti

Symbiosis by Gustavo Oviedo in partnership with The Museum Of Graffiti

The Shelborne South Beach is proud to present this exhibition in the hotel lobby on opening night. Cocktails will be served by Q Mixers, including Jose Cuervo margaritas, 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artist, who will also sign copies of his Symbiosis book during the event.  Due to current regulations and limited availability, reservations are required via Eventbrite.  The activation will be up all month long.

IlluminArts presents Unmasked

ICA Miami and IlluminArts partner with Girl Power to create the visual art, music, and online video performance: Unmasked. The at-promise girls of Girl Power will create the visual art for this performance inspired by the questions: How have masks been used around the world throughout history? How do masks protect us today? How can we interpret the masks we wear, both real and imaginary? Bringing their ideas to life with found objects, learned histories, and their own creativity and imagination, the masks the girls create will be featured in an exhibition at ICA Miami in December 2020. HistoryMiami presents Urban Tranquility: Photographs by C.W. Griffin

In partnership with Iris PhotoCollective, the Smithsonian Affiliate in downtown Miami will present the exhibition featuring the work of C.W. Griffin and curated by Carl Juste. C.W. Griffin is a photographer working in Miami. He has taught at the University of Miami for many years and was a staff photographer at the Miami Herald for 31 years. Griffin is the recipient of numerous awards, and while serving in the military was the first African American photographer to be named Military Photographer of the Year for all branches worldwide. Wynwood Mural Fest

WMF will celebrate Artists + Independent Culture for a 2nd year during Art Basel Miami Week  this time with a hybrid/virtual extension. The fest has added creative technologists, architectural design experts, and video production and broadcast specialists to our team to create a unique and engaging hybrid festival experience. There will be 10 interactive multi-media galleries and 150 artists, from December 2 to December 6th, visits and tours are daily by appointment.

Design gallery R & Company and Cultured Magazine

The collaboration presents “Full House,” an in-person exhibition of collectible design to address the needs of art and design by partnering on a joint platform. Features favorites such as the Haas Brothers and Katie Stout, alongside toys by Renata Muller,  sculptural objects by Serban Ionescu and Ashley Hicks, ceramics by Stephanie H. Video Instillation of Marco Brambilla

The Parisian house has commissioned an outdoor presentation by renowned film and video installation artist Marco Brambilla, known for major collaborations including a new short film starring Cate Blanchettin Berlin and in Marina Abramović’s highly anticipated opera. Will be on view to the public on the façade of Maison Margiela’s future flagship store in the Design District, 142 NE 41st Street, for three days December 3rd, 4th, and 5th from 7-10pm each evening.

Still Life with Xitle and Spirit by Jimmie Durham 2007 at Art Basel Miami Beach

Art Basel Online Viewing Rooms

The December edition of Art Basel’s Online Viewing Rooms will feature an international lineup of 255 leading galleries from 30 countries and territories across North and South America, as well as Europe, Asia, and Africa. The presentations will be accompanied by a program of online events, including talks and gallery walk-throughs. Local museums, galleries, and cultural organizations will host various exhibitions and activations on the ground during Miami Art Week. Continuing this year, the City of Miami Beach will be purchasing an artwork presented by one of the participating galleries in ‘OVR: Miami Beach’ as part of their Legacy Purchase Program. The Online Viewing Rooms will run from December 4 to December 6, The Online Viewing Rooms will be available via the Art Basel website under artbasel.com/ovr and the Art Basel App.

Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum Breakfast in the Park

The 17th annual – and first virtual – Breakfast in the Park will welcome visitors by featuring a lecture with 2019 MacArthur “Genius” Grant winner, Jeffrey Gibson, whose multimedia art combines the cultural and artistic traditions of his Cherokee and Choctaw heritage with themes from contemporary, popular and queer culture. His work is a vibrant call for queer and Indigenous empowerment, envisioning a celebration of strength and joy within these communities.  11 a.m., Facebook live @frostartmuseum.

Zen and the Art of… Finding Your Rock Stars

Presented collaboratively by The Betsy Hotel, Florida International University, Miami Beach Urban Studios, and other community partners, an evening of virtual conversation with legendary Moroccan artist Hassan Hajjaj, self-taught photographer, cross-cultural interpreter, and creator of the groundbreaking portrait series “My Rock Stars.” It celebrates eclectic world performers through staged portraits and sculptured frames that are infused by the vibrancy of Morrocan-infused multiculturalism. EFG Latin America Art Award in collaboration with Art Nexus

The EFG Latin America Art Award, now in its tenth year, was created to support a Latin American artist whose work is pre-selected through a juried process in Latin American contemporary art fairs throughout each year. The award aims to promote the production of Latin American visual arts and to increase awareness of regional fairs among collectors worldwide, with the strategic development by Liaisons. Nina Johnson Gallery

Opening of three exhibitions including Rochelle Feinstein: Freedonia!, a solo exhibition of new paintings by the legendary painter exploring the motif of the rainbow in abstractions of election data, reflecting upon this time of turmoil, anxiety, and gallows humor; Woody De Othello: Coming to Light, an exhibition of the Miami native’s whimsical ceramic distortions of quotidian domesticity, exploring how it feels to be alive today; and Nathlie Provosty: Poison Dart, a series of new paintings exploring the artist’s vivid dreams experienced after the loss of her sense of smell as a result of covid.
