The City of Miami Beach pays special tribute to French-American music hall performer Josephine Baker her achievements in advancing equal rights in Miami when she performed for a non-segregated audience at the Copa City Club in 1951. Evening features a piano bar VIP mini session, with a video montage by the American Black Film Festival Miami.

Perez Art Museum (PAMM) Panel: NFTs The Next 500 Years

For Miami Art Week, billionaire art collector Jorge M. Pérez’s experimental art space in Allapattah, is debuting an exciting 2021 exhibition. The show, Witness: Afro Perspectives from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection, will be refreshed by guest curator, Zeitz MOCAA’s Tandazani Dhlakama, alongside Pérez Collection curators, after its wildly popular launch in 2020. The revamped exhibit will feature over 100 works by African and African Diaspora artists, with powerful, brand-new pieces by Takadiwa Mottat, Cinga Samso, Ajarb Bernard Ategwa, Cassi Namoda, Penny Siopis, and Athi Patra Ruga. Each work will address themes of systematic oppression, intergenerational trauma, syncretism, identity and territory.

Unique collaboration between the Los Angeles-based artist and Snap is unleashed in your smartphone. Invited to work with Snap’s advanced augmented reality team to expand upon his multi-disciplinary practice, Israel has created five augmented reality (AR) experiences, each linked to one of his Self-Portrait paintings.

Extending from Collins Avenue along the central promenade of the park leading up to the museum entrance, this large-scale sculptural installation encompasses nearly 14,000 square feet. Commissioned by the museum, the project will bring the artist’s philosophy of autoconstrucción or “self-construction,” a practice of resilience and generosity, to The Bass’ Collins Park.
