For Miami Art Week, billionaire art collector Jorge M. Pérez’s experimental art space in Allapattah, is debuting an exciting 2021 exhibition. The show, Witness: Afro Perspectives from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection, will be refreshed by guest curator, Zeitz MOCAA’s Tandazani Dhlakama, alongside Pérez Collection curators, after its wildly popular launch in 2020. The revamped exhibit will feature over 100 works by African and African Diaspora artists, with powerful, brand-new pieces by Takadiwa Mottat, Cinga Samso, Ajarb Bernard Ategwa, Cassi Namoda, Penny Siopis, and Athi Patra Ruga. Each work will address themes of systematic oppression, intergenerational trauma, syncretism, identity and territory.

Extending from Collins Avenue along the central promenade of the park leading up to the museum entrance, this large-scale sculptural installation encompasses nearly 14,000 square feet. Commissioned by the museum, the project will bring the artist’s philosophy of autoconstrucción or “self-construction,” a practice of resilience and generosity, to The Bass’ Collins Park.

For it’s 20th Anniversary, the street art mainstay Entes will transform SCOPE’s front entrance pavilion into a colorful portrait of Peru presented as a monumental foam sculpture, whose surface is created by using his unique mural-transfers. Plus  Porsche Lounge, will be complimented by a one-of-a-kind collage mural by Derek Gores.
