There’s No Place Like Miami Country Day School
Famed institution celebrates it’s 75th anniversary with "Oz" themed bash

During the 2013-14 school year, Miami Country Day School celebrated its 75th anniversary and celebrated the past, the present, and the future of MCDS. “There’s No Place Like Home” as former heads of school, faculty, alumni, parents and friends joined together at “Home” on April 5, 2014. The “Wizard of Oz” was also celebrating its 75th anniversary and therefore became the theme of the special evening. The Miami Country Day School campus was transformed into a Wizard of Oz wonderland. Party goers walked along a Yellow Brick Road to the Franco Center where many of the evenings activities took place. Dr. John Davies, Head of School, dressed as Oz, addressed the Miami Country Day School community and thanked everyone for their commitment and support over the past 75 years. Dr. Davies also made two other exciting announcements: the inaugural class of “The 1938 Society,” which recognizes donors for lifetime giving to the school at or exceeding $1 million in gifts, and the naming of the South Campus to the “Garner Campus” to recognize the contributions and commitment of the Garner Moore family. Thank you to the Miami Country Day School community for celebrating this special anniversary year with us. Let’s do it again in another 25 years!
