Promoting Puerto Rico

Marile and Jorge Lopez, with their friend Lucy Morillo, Esq , hosted an intimate and vibrant dinner at their home in support of Foundation for Puerto Rico. With a guest list that included María Celeste Arrarás from Telemundo and a mission to remind the world of the island’s beauty, bounty and sustainability, celebrity chef Jose Mendin of Pubbelly and Placita fame created a menu and then prepared the Puerto Rican culinary masterpieces that included alcapurrias de jueyes, arroz pegao con ceviche, chillo crudo, mofongo de langostinos, cochinillo, arroz mamposteao and yuca ‘robuchon’ and for dessert, a frozen berry creation served in fresh, half-coconuts.

Acheval Pampa Debut

Social superstar Stephanie Sayfie-Aagaard invited a select group of fashionable friends to the debut of Acheval Pampa’s spring collection. At a chic trunk show and cocktail soiree, the line launched by famed Polo Player Nacho Figueras and his wife, Delfina Blaquier was showcased at The Webster’s Bal Harbour Shops location to guests that included Karolina Kurkova, Kinga Lampert, Malu Duhau, Augustia Casas Sere-Leguizanmon and Ana Alfonso.

Juggerknot Theater Company

Juggerknot Theater Company – a Knight Arts Challenge Grant winner – is back with more interactive theater, this time presenting Wynwood Stories relaying the history and trajectory of this neighborhood’s evolution. Held at Wynwood Yard and joining with its creator Della Heiman, the production is written by Juan C. Sanchez and directed by Tai Thompson. The immersive theatre experience highlights the personal stories of the people who lived, worked, and made significant contributions to Wynwood – and its ever-changing landscape. It’s time for Philanthropy Miami’s 2019 Shark Tank competition, a competitive pitch event in which a winner gets $5000. Presented by the Innovators Series in partnership with Bank of America, the organization held a workshop titled “How to Vet & Shape Your Idea” to help hopefuls hone their ideas with help from Ezequiel Wiliams of Contexto, who discussed making an impact without wasting too much time or too many resources.
