The Coral Gables Community Foundation’s 2015 Gala, celebrating A Night in Old Shanghai, will take place on Friday, October 16, at the Coral Gables Country Club.
Co-chaired by Sissy DeMaria and Mary Young, the Foundation’s annual gala raises funds that enable the Foundation to continue to foster programs and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for people who live, work, learn and play in the “The City Beautiful.” You will be transported to Old Shanghai for cocktails, dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions, plus a Chinese lion dance and drum performances.
The evening will also honor a group of outstanding community leaders. Honorees are: Yolanda and Jeff Berkowitz, who will receive the Legacy Award; Carol and Ed Williamson, the Jerry Santeiro Community Award; Chanin and Adam Carlin, the Arts & Culture Award; Tom Murphy, Jr. and the Murphy Family, the Philanthropy Award; Hank Langston, the Education Award; and Joe Rose, the Sports Award, presented by Doctors Hospital and the Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute.
