An Evening of Masterpieces and a Piano Concerto

Featuring Latin Grammy nominee Jorge Mejia with the Frost Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gerard Schwarz.

Latin Grammy nominee Jorge Mejia

Latin Grammy-nominated composer and pianist Jorge Mejia takes center stage for the highly anticipated US premiere of his piano concerto, If These Walls Could Talk. Performing alongside the 100-member Frost Symphony Orchestra, Mejia serves as soloist under the baton of Emmy-winning conductor Gerard Schwarz.

Following an acclaimed international tour across Europe and South America, the concerto now receives its domestic premiere, coinciding with the April 24 Apple Music exclusive release of a recording with the London Symphony Orchestra, ahead of its wider release on May 8. Experience the emotional depth of a story told through Mejia’s expressive musical voice.

Inspired by the 1920s Miami Beach apartment building Mejia once called home, the work unfolds across three movements—”First Floor,” “Second Floor” and “Rooftop”—each paired with a poignant story tracing the fictional lives of three former inhabitants. This evocative piano concerto is framed by the Spanish flair of Ravel’s “Alborada del gracioso” and the defiant triumph of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10.
