Barry Gibb to Give Private Concert at Love & Hope Ball

Thirty-five years ago, the first Love and Hope Ball made its indelible mark on the South Florida social scene, creating an extraordinary evening for its guests, and setting a standard of elegance and excitement that continues to delight and surprise its audience.
Certainly, that tradition will continue this year as Love and Hope celebrates a milestone anniversary with an intimate evening with Barry Gibb. To be held on Saturday, February 14, at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood and benefiting the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI), this rare concert experience provides guests with the complete Valentine’s Day package.
Beginning at 6 p.m. with a grand cocktail reception, the black-tie gala will feature spectacular décor, a sumptuous dinner and dancing. At its peak, Barry Gibb will take the stage alongside a nine-piece band and his eldest son, Stephen, who will lend his talents on guitar and vocals, as well.
World-renowned for that unmistakable falsetto, Barry continues to write and perform after half a century of making music. In addition to his musical accolades, he has made his mark within the local community by purchasing a home on Miami Beach in the 1970’s, investing in local businesses, and generously contributing to many charities, including the DRI.
In 1985, Barry and his wife, Linda, became Love and Hope International Chairmen, a role they’ve proudly filled ever since. They are also Distinguished Humanitarians of the DRI Foundation and serve as honorary members of its board of directors.
Following in the steps of their parents, the Gibb children, Stephen and Gloria, Ashley and Therese, Travis and Stacey, Michael, and Ali Gibb, pledged to continue the Gibb legacy as they debuted as the first Young Society Honorees at last year’s Love and Hope Ball.
The Love and Hope Ball boasts a different theme each year. On this anniversary occasion, the committee has dubbed it The Royal Ball. And according to the ladies of Love and Hope, everyone in attendance is going to feel like royalty as they groove to the tunes of Barry Gibb we all know and love.
