Battier Take Charge Foundation Spreads Cheer
Former Miami HEAT star Shane Battier was the special guest at the Shops at Merrick Park at a holiday event held in collaboration with the Battier Take Charge Foundation. The organization provides resources for the development and education of underprivileged youth, including scholarships to first-generation college students. Guests enjoyed live entertainment by the Coral Gables Senior High School Choir, the Miami Royal Ballet and DJ Risi. Families captured memories in photo booths, got creative at Pottery Barn Kids’ cookie decorating station and took advantage of retailer discounts and giveaways. With a nod toward the holidays, Santa Claus put in an appearance, and Toys for Tots was on hand, accepting gifts to help bring holiday cheer to those less fortunate.
