2010 Heart and Stroke Ball

Over 425 guests ventured to the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Miami to celebrate Life’s Lasting Love at the American Heart Association’s 2010 Miami Heart and Stroke Ball. In the 42 years since the Heart Ball’s inception in Miami, never has the event seen such success!

A Grand Gathering

The 2010/11 gala season is well underway and SocialMiami photographed a group of fabulous chairs, honorees and donors at Ligne Roset in the Miami Design District. The all-star philanthropic cast featured representatives from some of Miami’s most esteemed organizations mixed and matched together in unique compositions.

Super Bowl Alli

Allison Weiss Brady was at it again with another exciting social-filled adventure. In this latest chapter AWB took on the Super Bowl with Creed frontman singer/songwriter, Scott Stapp. They bounced around the action in VIP style to mix and mingle with NFL superstars, A-list actors and bona-fide power brokers.

YoungArts Gala

Miami’s philanthropic power players gathered recently for the annual An Affair of the Arts Performance and Gala, in support of YoungArts, the core program of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA). The event brought together the nation’s finest young artists, the patrons who support them and a cache of celebrities at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts and the Alfred I. Dupont Building. The gala raised more than $550 thousand to support student artists. The theme of this year’s gala was Downtown Deco.

Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon

Set in historic gardens at Vizcaya, the annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon celebrated the splendor of the gardens and raised funds to protect, preserve and restore the treasured estate. Hosted by The Vizcayans and Neiman Marcus, the day began with cocktails and garden tours followed by an al fresco lunch and informal modeling showcasing Spring 2010.

Miami Swim Week

In an almost Art Basel-esque display that featured Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim and Swim Show 2011 at the Miami Beach Convention Center spawning smaller satellite events and parties, the 2010 Miami Swim Week was an exciting five days of scantily clad beautiful people bouncing from venue to venue. SocialMiami’s Sarah Arison was on hand with Quintessentially member Anna Craft, as well as Dean Pemberton, president of Quintessentially Americas, to take in two fabulous luxury events at The Webster and W South Beach.

Priceless Moments

With a Gala that celebrated 25 years of “Priceless” experiences for children and families, Miami Children’s Museum (MCM) delighted more than 600 attendees with a host of food catered by the Ritz Carlton South Beach, featuring celebrity Chef Jeff McInnis and Executive Chef Thomas Connell, entertainment featuring a concert by the Average White Band, and a spirited auction that helped successfully raise more than $750,000 for the Museum’s programming.

Basel Manny

All that remains from Art Basel week 2010 are the memories of parties and art, brunches, dinners, celebrities, some interior design, perhaps a little fashion, and a whole lot of money. Chronicling the action was the ubiquitous Manny Hernandez, aka Basel Manny. This A-List social photographer made Miami his playground as he bounced from venue to venue to capture all that was glamorous, chic and sophisticated during Miami’s greatest week.
