BoHo MOCA

Patrons Show Their Style

The Museum of Contemporary Art’s fundraiser on February 20th, the Bohemian Bash, celebrates creativity and the role of the unconventional in the artistic process. In that vein, partygoers are challenged to come dressed in “Bohemian Chic”. At MOCA, style is as individual and varied as the patrons themselves, and a few of the most fashion-forward committee members modeled possible looks selected from Bal Harbour stores that are participating in the silent auction.

Wife, mother and jeweler, Janice Lipton is an avid photographer who has recently published two books that capture the beauty of the seasons. It is not surprising that she chose a colorful Roberto Cavalli silk georgette top with a butterfly-inspired design from Saks Fifth Avenue to interpret Bohemian chic, wearing it with pants by Michael Kors, shoes by Jimmy Choo and ring from Saks Fifth Avenue. Janice’s commitment to community is evidenced in
her role as Founder and Trustee of the Lipton Foundation, which she donates her time and provides charitable support for many local, national and international causes.

Channing Norton, public relations professional and “About Last Night” columnist for Miami Magazine, selected a long silk jersey gown from Pucci in this season’s new Samarcanda print. Pairing it with a bright blue patent leather pump with peek-a-boo toe, Channing is ready for a festive evening. An alternate look is to pair an elegant top with casual pants. Channing dressed up her black riding pants with a Pucci coral colored beaded cowl neck top and
white heeled sandals.

Kandi Stirman, CEO and owner of Miami Cordage and avid MOCA member, can always be counted on to have one of the most creative ensembles at any MOCA event. Enlisting the help of her friend, antique dealer and stylist Barry Schmuecker, Kandi chose a fun and flirty Chan Luu Circle Dress from Calpyso St Barth. Adding a Fireball Necklace, Kandi and Barry are ready for the dance floor. As for Barry – he topped his favorite jeans with a vintage hat and tails, and a scarf from Thailand. Kandi’s other choice at Calpyso St. Barth is Avenue Montaigne Cassis sequin pants, paired with a ruffled shirt from Sibel Saral layered over Calypso’s Basic Lace Tank. A Sachin & Babi Milano Flower Necklace and vibrant Riviera Oarz Scarf polish off the look.
