Camillus House’s 6th Annual “The Auction”

Event raises more than $1 million to help poor and homeless of Miami-Dade

Camillus House, one of Greater Miami’s most recognized and respected not-for-profit organizations, raised more than $1 million at “The Auction,” its ninth annual spring fundraising event, held at The Coral Gables Country Club. The event proceeds will benefit Camillus programs serving persons who are poor and homeless in Miami-Dade County.

The Auction’s theme, “Uncork and Unwind” attracted a sold-out crowd of over 340 guests and featured more than 200 exceptional auction lots. The evening began with a champagne reception and was highlighted by an exquisite gourmet dinner created by renowned Miami Chef Michelle Bernstein. Miami Herald humor columnist Dave Barry entertained guests with his quick wit.

The fabulously diverse live auction featured valuable and coveted items, including rare and vintage wines, exotic travel packages around the world, and several private dinners with prominent local chefs, and other luxurious lifestyle items.

The top selling auction lot was a private dinner for 12 people featuring the amazing Palme d’Or cuisine paired with collectable wines and champagne from Bob Dickinson’s cellar. Other items included a SeaDream Yacht Club 7-day Mediterranean sailing experience and a rare collection of magnums spanning 74-years.
