Catherine F. Penrod Named Flair President
Catherine F. Penrod, CEO/President of nonprofit Switchboard, has been named the 2015-2016 Florida Alliance of Information and Referral Services (FLAIRS) Board President. A member of FLAIRS since 2008, Catherine is excited and optimistic in leading FLAIRS to meet its goals for this year. She most recently served as the Florida 2-1-1 Association’s Chair. FLAIRS is the state overseer of the national standards and works to develop collaborative efforts among all of the State’s information and referral providers. Under Penrod’s leadership, along with an amazing board, volunteers, and staff, Switchboard has witnessed exponential growth. As a $2 million budget organization in 2008, to over $7.5 million in 2015, the Miami-based organization currently serves on a national scale as the leading contact center in the nation with the highest call volume of any other contact centers reporting. In 2014, Switchboard completed a successful merger with longstanding Miami-Dade nonprofit, Family Counseling Services; adding the crisis line services of Monroe County after acquiring nonprofit 2-1-1 Helpline of the Florida Keys, Switchboard is at its largest service abilities ever.
