As one of Coral Gable’s few traditional ballrooms, the Coral Gables Country Club is the perfect location for groups of one hundred to one thousand people. Originally constructed in 1924, as a pivotal component to the city founder George Merrick’s ‘Mediterranean Riviera’, this complex gracefully blends the traditional Mediterranean style of the exterior with elegant classical interior finishes. The facility boasts a magnificent grand ballroom and three satellite banquet rooms. With coral stone waterfalls, stunning crystal chandeliers, spectacular black marble foyers, rich Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors, ornate Italian marble columns and cornice molding, you will enjoy the luxurious sense of understated elegance. Dedicated to the highest standard of hospitality, the Coral Gables Country Club offers the ultimate experience in ambiance, cuisine and customer service.
The Coral Gables Country Club has an impressive heritage. Originally part of the 1921 city plan by George Merrick and landscape architect, Frank Button, the Country Club proudly became Coral Gables’ first public building. This heritage site quickly turned into the epicentre of the new community and played an important role in its development.
Originally constructed in 1924, this forty thousand square foot complex was completely renovated in 2010 and now gracefully blends the traditional “Mediterranean Rivera” style of the exterior with elegant classical interior finishes. The Coral Gables Country Club still retains the historic beauty fashioned after George Merrick with elegant, modern compliments. Changes were made to the reception area, the front entrance, and the configuration of rooms and the floors. Throughout the venue, coral stone waterfalls, stunning crystal chandeliers, spectacular black marble foyers, rich Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, ornate Italian marble columns and cornice moulding lend an air of historic elegance.
The Coral Gables Country Club also houses the Liberty Caffé, which offers the casual appeal of a neighbourhood European-style caffé and the Athletic Club, a spa inspired fitness center that features newly resurfaced tennis courts, the latest in fitness equipment, upgraded amenities and a spectacular refurbished pool and deck.
