Coral Gables Museum World Cup Exhibit
More than 300 people attended the opening of Coral Gables Museum’s original exhibition in conjunction with the Centro Cultural Brasil-USA, 12 Stadiums, 12 Cities: Brazil 2014 World Soccer Destination, a celebration of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The stadiums in the 12 cities in Brazil hosting the World Cup were represented by extraordinary architectural photos by native artistic photographers who shared a unique view of their communities. The exhibit was curated by Brazilian architect and designer, Adriana Sabino. The exhibit features Brazilian music, native games, food and beverages and runs through September 14, 2014.
The Museum also converted its 2,000 square foot open air Plaza into an outdoor soccer field, which will last throughout the duration of the exhibit. The soccer field will be used to simulcast two ESPN-sponsored viewing events of soccer games in June from Brazil and will host various Museum youth sports programs during the summer.
