Distinguished Alumni Awards

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor given to alumni by Barry University. Since its inception in 2007, the award has been presented to Barry graduates who are locally, nationally and/or internationally recognized for contributions to their professions, community and their demonstrated commitment to Barry University and its mission.

Running simultaneously with the awards program, guests will enjoy some of South Florida’s most tantalizing chef’s in a culinary competition of extraordinary proportions. The winner of the competition will be chosen by the guests and will receive the prestigious Barry University Distinguished Chef Award.

The chefs will present one dish from their stations set up in each corner of the ballroom. Guests will score each dish, based on a number of categories as they travel through their culinary journey. The chef with the highest total score at the end of the night will receive the title of “Barry University Distinguished Chef 2009.”
