Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce Celebrates 2007 Black Business Success with Tom Joyner, Yvette Miley and R. Donahue Peebles

Miami, FL – Over six hundred (600) of The Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce’s closest friends and members turned out to celebrate Doing Business in Paradise at the Second Annual Holiday Gala party on Friday, December 7th at the Sheraton Miami Mart Hotel. Every year, the Gala recognizes the best in South Florida’s business community, and the milestones achieved. However, the night belonged to top honorees Tom Joyner, President of Reach Media and host of the number one nationally syndicated radio morning show, ‘The Tom Joyner Morning Show’, Yvette Miley, Director of News Programming at WTVJ/ NBC 6, one only a handful of African-American news directors in the U.S., and Donahue Peebles, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Development Corp., the nation’s largest African American real estate development company.

The “tropical paradise” themed social event included a diverse mix of South Florida’s savviest and most successful business minds and corporate leaders, who networked and enjoyed an evening of elegance and danced to the live tunes of 80’s R&B funk icons, Midnight Star.

Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, Bill Diggs commented “The event was a huge success. All the responses we’ve received have been very positive. I was extremely honored when Tom Joyner commended the Chamber on the event, and said he ‘had no idea’ of the great work that being done by Black businesses in Miami.”

The Miami Dade Chamber of Commerce Holiday Gala is a celebration of true excellence, and with an extraordinary program and entertainment package, has earned a well deserved reputation as one of the most anticipated corporate and social events of the holiday season.
