A new and exciting component has been added to Florida Heart Research Institute’s 3rd Annual Driven to Dine event! “Limo to Lunch,” a Drive to Dine event, will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008, departing from Neiman Marcus Village of Merrick Park.

The new “Limo to Lunch” begins with a reception and informal modeling hosted by Neiman Marcus, Village of Merrick Park. Groups of ten guests will pick a sealed envelope with instructions for their limo driver to deliver them to the undisclosed restaurant where their elegant lunch awaits them. Upon return to Village of Merrick Park, a number of stores will host special in-store events for guests to enjoy during the afternoon. The cost is $1500 per limo or $150 per person.

Limo to Lunch will kick off with a luncheon hosted by Jennifer Boin Getz in her salon at the Offices of Merrick Park on September 25th.

Guests at the “Driven to Dine” event on April 25, 2009, will begin their festive evening with a sunset cocktail party. Last year’s event was held at the Indian Creek home of legendary NFL Coach Don and Mary Anne Shula. Participants sipped cocktails, provided by Terlato Wine and Pernod Ricard, and nibbled hors ‘d oeuvres from Le Cordon Bleu and Lyon & Lyon Catering while socializing with friends and enjoying the gracious hospitality of the Shulas. The excitement peaked when the envelopes were drawn containing the destination of the evening’s culinary surprise. The drivers knew, but the guests were still in suspense until they arrived for a delectable, heart healthy, multi-course meal prepared by one of Miami’s top chefs.

The chefs/restaurants that participated last year: Michael Gilligan/Atrio, Edgar Leal/Cacao, Capital Grille, Nina Compton/Casa Casuarina, Allen Susser/Chef Allen’s, Giancarla Bodoni/Escopazzo, John Suley/Joley, Mancini’s Ristorante, Kurtis Jantz/Neomi’s at the Trump, Cindy Hutson/Ortanique, Govind Armstrong/Table 8, Sean Brasel/Touch, Sean Bernal/Oceanaire, Jonathan Wright/The Restaurant at the Setai and Andrew Swersky/The Forge.

Priced at $500 per person or $5,000 for the limo (limo is limited to ten), this year’s Driven to Dine promises amazing food and tremendous fun, all for a great cause. For information or reservations, call 305-674-3020.
