On Friday, October 23, 2015, over five hundred guests will join the American Cancer Society at the JW Marriott Marquis to honor local philanthropists for their commitment to our community at the Eighth Annual Inner Circle of Twelve Luncheon and Fashion Show. The luncheon recognizes twelve outstanding women for their leadership, volunteerism, community involvement and dedication to the American Cancer Society’s mission.
This year’s event is certain to be Miami’s luncheon of the year, as the American Cancer Society will also be presenting the prestigious “Inner Circle of Twelve Legacy Award” to founding Event Chairs Dorothy St. Jean and James “Jim” Murphy. Dorothy and Jim are being recognized for being pinnacles of this event and for their commitment and efforts in making this Luncheon one of the most recognized and best Luncheons in Miami.
The twelve honorees will be announced at the Inner Circle of Twelve Luncheon Kick-Off in September at an exclusive cocktail reception to be held at the Coconut Grove Gallery.
Tickets for the Inner Circle of Twelve Luncheon and Fashion Show are $200 per person. For information about tickets or sponsorships, please contact Karla Pascua, Sr. Development Manager, Distinguished Events, at 305-779-2879 or by email Karla.Pascua@Cancer.org.
About American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society was founded in 1913 as the American Society for the Control of Cancer (ASCC) by 15 prominent physicians and business leaders in New York City. At that time, a cancer diagnosis amounted to near certain death. Rarely mentioned in public, this taboo disease was steeped in fear and denial. Physicians sometimes did not tell their patients they had cancer, and patients often did not tell their friends and families if they had been diagnosed. Now – the American Cancer Society is a nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
Each year, an estimated 11,323 people in our area and more than 100,000 people across Florida will be diagnosed with cancer. The American Cancer Society is the one place they can turn to 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Learn more by visiting www.Cancer.org.
