The Spectrum Awards for Women annually recognizes outstanding women whose efforts have made significant contributions to the quality of life in South Florida. These leadership awards acknowledge the humanitarian principles of the American Red Cross: Humanity, Impartiality, Independence, Unity, Neutrality, and Voluntary Service. This year’s honorees are: Florida Blue Philanthropy Award – Marile Lopez; Trish and Dan Bell Chairmen’s Award – Meg Daly; Cervera Real Estate Ambassador Award – Emily Berlin; Bank of America Education Award – Dr. Patricia A. Whitely; Mercantil Commercebank Entrepreneurial Award – Jocelyn Cortez-Young; Baptist Health South Florida Healthcare Award – Edith Schaffer Lederberg; Hospitality Award – Adrienne Calvo; The Ethel and W. George Kennedy Family Foundation Volunteerism Award – Bonnie Blank; Margarita and Rick Tonkinson Community Service Award – Sara B. Herald; Barbara Nelson Red Cross Service Award – Betty Lopez-Castro; Swanee and Paul DiMare Youth Award – Stella Khezri. The event kicks off with a reception, silent auction and exhibit at 11 a.m., followed by lunch and presentation at 12:30. Swanee DiMare is honorary chair and Trish Bell is chairing the event. Tickets are $150 and $250, and tables range from $1,500 to $5,000.
