City of Miami Commissioner Frank Carollo will host the 2nd Annual Goals NOT Guns 5K Run, Walk or Pedal Event, organized in collaboration with Miami Marathon founder and community leader Frankie Ruiz. The route begins at Bayfront Park and goes through East Little Havana and Overtown, the areas where several deadly shootings have occurred. Powered by United Way, net proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Miami-Dade, inspiring and enabling all young people to realize their full potential as responsible citizens. The event is for all levels of fitness and offers a fun-filled time with music and refreshments. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the race at 8.
