31st International Hispanic Theater Festival (IHTF) 2016: Los Espejos De Don QuijoteConcerts & Performances
The 31st International Hispanic Theater Festival (IHTF) 2016 will feature Los Espejos De Don Quijote/Mirros of Don Quijote at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. The work is from Panicoescénico Producciones, Madrid, Spain and is written and directed by Alberto Herreros Salcedo (In Spanish with English supertitles). With a wink to the audience, the author plays with the possibility that Cervantes and Shakespeare competed for the favors of Dorothea, a character who will play an important role in the two writers’ interactions. The action takes place in a cell at the moment when the jailer comes to take Cervantes to appear before the court for a crime that perhaps never happened. Official play of the 2016 National Cervantes Committee of Spain’s Ministry of Culture. Performances are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 8:30 p.m. The 31st International Hispanic Theater Festival (IHTF) 2016 runs from July 7-24. General admission is $34.
