HistoryMiami Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate, will host its annual fundraising gala, the Flamingo Ball presented by Hialeah Park, in Hialeah Park’s historic Citation Ballroom.

This festive event will benefit HistoryMiami Museum and treat more than 250 of the city’s top philanthropists and VIPs to a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by lavish stone crab buffet with champagne and signature cocktails, live performances and a special presentation of the prestigious Henry Flagler Award.

The Flamingo Ball, named after the beautiful birds that inhabit Hialeah Park’s infield lake, was first held in 1965 on the eve of the Flamingo Stakes horse race at Hialeah Racetrack. After a lapse of a few years, the lavish pink social confection is back and is paying tribute to when Hialeah Park first opened for horse racing in January 1925.
