From 1960 to 1962 over 14,000 unaccompanied Cuban children came to our community looking for a better life. Over 50 years later Miami continues to be a safe haven for families and children. HistoryMiami Museum will host an engaging conversation about the state of children in our community. Hear expert accounts from some of the leading organizations who are rising to the challenges our community faces. Representatives from The Children’s Trust, Our Kids, The Parent Academy and Amigos for Kids will take part in the symposium, moderated by Daniella Levine Cava. After the program, take a minute of view Operation Pedro Pan before it closes. Light refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public.
