A Grandson’s Search for His Family’s Holocaust Secrets
Classes, Workshops & Lectures
The Jewish Museum of Florida -FIU will present A World Erased: A Grandson’s Search for His Family’s Holocaust Secrets a lecture by Noah Lederman as part of its Mondays at Museum Series. Noah Lederman, the grandson of Holocaust survivors, had always wanted to hear his grandparents’ stories. The stories, however, gave their own children nightmares, and so Lederman’s grandparents shared with him only less-harrowing versions. Thus, many tales of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and of the concentration camps were off limits to the third generation. But with persistence and some travel missteps, Lederman finally gained access to his grandparents’ memories before they disappeared forever. Selected as one of the best books of the year by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Lederman’s stories will transport audiences from his grandparents’ kitchen table in Brooklyn to World War II Poland. Cost is $5 JMOF-FIU Members; $10 Non-Members; Free for Students with valid ID.
