The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) will launch its Spring season with the presentation of Acta Non Verba by French-Guadeloupean artist Marielle Plaisir. The exhibition addresses both historical and personal issues about colonialism, domination, and the construction of identity. Since 2000, Plaisir has exhibited her work individually and collectively all over the world. Her work features paintings, drawings, textile/fiber installations, and tableau vivant performances that capture highly intense visual experiences. The exhibition will be on display March 24 – May 29, 2016 and will be accompanied by a number of educational and public programs. The Museum is open Tuesday – Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 1 to 9 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to5 p.m. (closed Mondays and major holidays).
