Leading philanthropists and music lovers will come together for the Young Patronesses of the Opera (YPO) annual gala to raise funds for music education.  This year’s black-tie affair “An Evening Where No One Sleeps”, to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel Miami, draws inspiration from one of the most beloved arias in all of opera — the soul-stirring ‘Nessun Dorma’ from Turandot by Giacomo Puccini.  YPO’s gala will be equally as uplifting, and so exciting no one will want to miss a minute.

YPO’s 2019-2020 President Marianne Kircher is joined by dynamic co-chairs Marta Alfonso, Magita Rojas and Lurenda Turner in presenting this magnificent evening.   “We will be recreating the majesty and mystery of Beijing’s Forbidden City,” said Kircher,“the setting for Puccini’s Turandot”.  Guestswill experience sets that recall a Ming courtyard, the grandeur of the Imperial Palace, a Zen Garden and a traditional Chinese marketplace. Dinner and dancing to live music will be punctuated by surprise entertainment throughout the evening.

YPO, now in its 64th year, hosts an annual benefit that is one of Miami’s oldest and most prestigious galas. The 200 patrons expected to attend willraise funds for YPO’s community programs which support music and opera education in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.  Sponsors and underwriters to date included Anticipation Yacht Charters, Antonio Bachour, Trish and Dan Bell, Morris & Anita Broad Philanthropic Fund, Fidelity Investments, Swanee and Paul DiMare, Marianne and Peter Kircher, LT Creative, Inc.,  MBAF Certified Public Accountants and Advisors, J. Steven Manolis, Maurice Jewelers, Linda & Pat McEnany, The Old River House, SeaDream Yacht Club and Worth New York.

Tickets to ‘An Evening Where No One Sleeps’ start at $400 and may be purchased at www.YPO-Miami.org/Gala.

Gala Kick Off Event Manolis Projects Art Gallery

Festivities surrounding YPO’s ‘An Evening Where No One Sleeps’ are already underway.   On May 15, YPO patrons were invited to a cocktail party at Manolis Projects Art Gallery (335 NE 59th Street, Miami, 33137) for an exhibition by abstract expressionist J. Steven Manolis, and a trunk show by acclaimed jewelry designer Geoffrey Good, who traveled from New York to personally present his new line. Pastry chef Antonio Bachour, winner of the international Best Chef Awards, and owner of the new restaurant Bachour in Coral Gables, served up delectable hors d’oeuvres. Champagne provided extra sparkle to the evening.
