About Florida Grand Opera (FGO)

Florida Grand Opera (FGO) is the oldest artistic institution in Florida and the only professional opera company in South Florida. FGO produces diverse, culturally engaging experiences both in the theater and in the community. The company preserves the art form by cultivating the next generation of opera audiences and singers while giving the residents of Miami-Dade county the highest quality of the operatic art form. The areas important to FGO fund raising are our annual productions, the Studio Artist Program and education/community outreach. Annual productions costs include principal artists, costumes, orchestra, venue rental and all scenic elements. The Studio Artist Program (SA) costs maintain this internationally acclaimed operatic training program for artists to participate in a year-long residency program and learn operatic performance craft through FGO repertoire. Finally, education/community outreach programs costs provide programs reflecting the diverse vocal traditions of South Florida while engaging students with opera dress rehearsals and classroom projects.
