BAPTIST HEALTH FOUNDATION’S GRAND GOLF TOURNAMENT
Charity & Social EventsRarely does one sporting event offer activities expressly tailored to baseball lovers and golf enthusiasts alike, but Baptist Health Foundation’s Grand Golf Tournament does! Hosted by World Series MVP Mike Lowell, together with five-time All Star Jorge Posada and the Major League Baseball (MLB) Players Alumni Association, the Grand Golf Tournament will blend the former South Miami Hospital Annual Golf Classic with the Baptist Hospital “Heroes” Golf Tournament, all to benefit Pediatric Oncology at Miami Cancer Institute and the Child Development Center Endowment at South Miami Hospital. More than 280 golfers are expected to play at the event on two courses at Trump National Doral. Registration begins at 10 a.m., with a shotgun start at 12 noon. Tournament Co-Chairs Yerby Barker, Carlos Lowell and Bill Tillett are inviting former MLB players to swap their bats for clubs and play as the fifth member of every foursome – all to raise funds to help children and families facing cancer, and those facing developmental and physical challenges.
