About Strong Girls, Inc.

Strong Girls, Inc. (SGI) offers a long-term sustainable solution to the mental health crisis that affects millions of school children across the country, preventing them from succeeding in school and in life. By helping young girls understand and manage the toxic stresses that interfere with academic success, our program puts disadvantaged girls on a steady, safe course toward college and career.  We focus on financially disadvantaged 3rd-12th grade girls as the key to change, giving today’s girls the opportunity to become tomorrow’s strong, confident women who value education and pass down those values to their children.

Established in 2017, SGI is a free after school program that addresses mental health to relieve the stress that prevents enjoyment of school and life.  Our program builds a healthy pipeline to higher education and career readiness using a research and evidence-based program founded on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).  SEL is a framework for teaching children how to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
