Charles Castleman—Violin Virtuoso
Concerts & PerformancesInternationally acclaimed, prize-winning violinist and new Frost faculty Charles Castleman performs a dramatic unaccompanied solo recital that begins with J.S. Bach’s masterful “Chaconne” from Partita in D Minor. He then invites fellow faculty violinist Scott Flavin to the stage for a lively performance of Louis Spohr’s Duo, Op. 67, No. 2. The second half features David Finko’s solo masterpiece Lamentations of Jeremiah, Astor Piazzolla’s Tango Etudes, Nos. 2 and 3, and Eugène Ysaÿe’s Violin Sonata Op. 27, No. 3 (“Ballade”).
