Concert Series-Journey Through Sound: Exploring Jewish Life Through Music. Presented by FIU School of Music and Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU. Concert 1: In Commemoration of Kristallnacht. The FIU School of Music and the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU (JMOF-FIU) present a powerful evening in commemoration of Kristallnacht. The evening will feature members of the Amernet String Quartet as they explore works for string trio by Jewish composers including Hans Gal, Hans Krasa, Gideon Klein, Mieczyslaw Weinberg, and Egon Wellesz. Given their Jewish background, the Amernet has pursued a long and important commitment to disseminating the voices of these silenced or repressed musicians.
