Edouard Duval-Carri, whose work is featured in the exhibition Relational Undercurrents: Contemporary Art of the Caribbean Archipelago, will address political, social, and historical themes of Haitian culture in his work. Born in Port-au-Prince in 1954 and based in Miami, Duval-Carri is an internationally-renowned artist known for his large-scale paintings and sculptures that address the Caribbean diaspora. In his landscapes, the real and the imagined combine to create haunting and emotive compositions.
