FGO’s SalomeConcerts & Performances
Florida Grand Opera will perform Salome by Richard Strauss. A depraved princess executes a frenzied dance of death. With its bizarre brew of eroticism and religion, Richard Strauss’s Salome was so disturbing when it first appeared that it was banned in Vienna and London. Today, it’s lost none of its power to send shivers through the audience, and this production eerily captures all the depravity of King Herod’s court in ancient Jerusalem. Performances at the Adrienne Arsht Center: January 27 at 7 p.m.; January 28 at 2 p.m.; January 30, February 2 & 3 at 8 p.m. Performances at the Broward Center: February 8 & 10, at 7:30 p.m.
