In conjunction with the current exhibition, Cinema Judaica, The Epic Cycle (1947-71), the Jewish Museum of Florida – FIU presents an escape from the heat in a series of summer matinees with Miami Jewish Film Festival (MJFF). The series begins with this classic film based on the story Tevye and his Daughters by Sholem Alechem, the film is set in pre-revolutionary Russia. In the largely Jewish community of Anatevka, Ukraine, the residents are ruled by community and cultural traditions. Academy Award winner for Best Cinematography, Best Sound, and Best Score. Snacks will be available for purchase. Free for JMOF-FIU and MJFF members or with museum admission. Admission is adults, $6; seniors, $5; families, $12; members and children under 6 always free.
