Soar with Seraphic Fires soul-stirring performance of African-American spirituals, as South Floridas premiere classical vocal group explores the rich tradition, solemn power and exhilarating emotion of Americas first true concert music. Celebrated countertenor Reggie Mobley and baritone Charles Wesley Evans return to Seraphic Fire in a program showcasing the breadth and depth of African-American spiritual literature. From the plaintive sounds of I’m Bulding Me a Home and Lord How Come Me Here, to the unbridled joy of Rock ‘a My Soul, Seraphic Fire explores the American Spiritual under the baton of New England conductor Dr. Anthony Trecek-King, who makes his debut appearance with Seraphic Fire. ARRIVE EARLY for a special pre-show talk with Dr. Brad Diamond discussing the African American Spirituals performance from 3:00pm-3:30pm in the Black Box Theater. Appropriate for ages 7 and up.
